All year round, across the Yorkshire Dales, there is a dazzling array of festivals, galas, shows, open air markets and local village events that are just too numerous to mention!
The fun starts in early Spring, with snowdrop days and lambing events, then family fun over the Easter holidays.
Late Spring, Summer and Autumn bring a host of festivals, farmers’ markets, and events from Maypole dancing to fetes, feasts to horse fairs, sports to galas. The gates of majestic country homes are thrown open for special events and reveal perfectly tended gardens, while market towns and villages host more intimate garden open days and local food and drink festivals.
Late summer sees the celebration of traditional farming skills, prize winning livestock and local produce - you can even take some goodies home with you. As the days get shorter, late Autumn and early Winter bring fabulous firework displays and family fun at the Christmas fairs and festivals.
For outdoor entertainment there are guided walks and heritage trails, bird watching, sporting events or even the thrill of horse or motor racing.
There are also concerts, jazz festivals, special exhibitions at galleries and museums, theatrical events under open skies.
Whatever the season and whatever the weather, there is always something to celebrate in the Yorkshire Dales!
