Things to do - Walking

The Yorkshire Dales is a walker’s paradise. There’s everything from a gentle stroll along the riverbank, to a hike across the moors, to a heritage trail or a guided walk.

If you are interested in following a trail with a difference, visit our Heritage Trails pages. Each one can be downloaded and will take you on a voyage of discovery into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales countryside and its colourful past.

If you would like to join a guided walk, many are connected to local bus services. These walks are an ideal way to meet people as well as to travel the Dales without the worry of finding a place to park the car. For more information visit www.dalesbus.org or Tel: 0870 608 2 608.

Alternatively why not visit our Events pages. The Yorkshire Dales National Park runs regular themed, guided walks from May to October to suit all abilities and interests. They are a great way to experience the countryside through the eyes of a Park Ranger and to find out more about the Dales’ wildlife and habitat.
